I am an avid player of Star Wars: The Old Republic and while questing on Nar Shaddaa I got really inspired by the different enemy gangs and factions the player faces. Nar Shaddaa is a seedy planet where underworld syndicates control every day life, the largest gang being the Hutt Cartel.

My main goal was to create a character that could fit into Star Wars: Outlaws. I made up an alien species based on the Nikto.

A dynamic explorational approach to design where I add and change things depending on intuition. Sometimes I find this easier, blocking in solid colors and then refining form and design as I go. To make it feel more Star Wars, I added an imperial chest piece and a hutt symbol! In a project workflow this would be a great starting off point for more iteration.

Here I explored different outfits that would suit an underworld enforcer! Leaning a lot towards 80’s henchmen and vintage greasers

I sculpted a quick portrait in Zbrush to get a feeling for my new alien species and solve how the “horns” would shape around the head. I like when the head structure feels similar to a helmet.

Head gear is always fun! Ranging from cyber eye-patch to WW2 goggles.

This character started as a doodle on an envelope during my breakfast. This is where the shape of the head orginated.
